A Fresh Wiff Of Hate

Ahhh, summertime. Cool mountain breezes, crystal clear mornings, the smell of freshly cut grass...and Neal Boortz (pictured with his crown on).

One of these things is not like the other.

Boortz, one of the right's most outspoken hatetalkers, is carried in the summer on local right-wing vitriol repeater WXIT 1200 AM.

And we're so much the better for it. Why, just think of the contributions this man is making to our local political discourse. Have yourself a listen--seems that Boortz has a problem with the victims of Hurricane Katrina again:

Yes, Neal--the drowning people of Katrina should have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps...like good any libertarian would..even while treading water.

Thanks again WXIT. We assume you will fall back on the "he was just joking" justification?

What ever happened to free speech? You don't have to like what he says, but he is certainly not a HateTalker. For some real hate, why don't you listen to Perez Hilton's attack on Miss California.

Whatever happened to actual thinking? Here's more good stuff from Neal:

During the April 27 edition of his nationally syndicated radio show, Neal Boortz asked: "[W]hat better way to sneak a virus into this country than give it to Mexicans? Right? I mean, one out of every 10 people born in Mexico is already living up here, and the rest are trying to get here. So you give -- you give -- you let this virus just spread in Mexico, where they don't have a CDC." Boortz went on to say: "So if you want to get that epidemic into this country, get it going real good and hot south of the border. And, you know, then just spread a rumor that there's construction jobs available somewhere, and here it comes. Because we're not gonna do anything to stop them from coming across the border."

On the August 21 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, host Neal Boortz falsely suggested that Sen. Barack Obama is a Muslim. While discussing Sen. John McCain's inability to answer the Politico's question about how many homes he and his wife own, Boortz said: "Let's ask Obama how many prayer rugs he has." As Media Matters for America has noted, Obama is a Christian, not a Muslim.

During the April 16 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, while discussing the issue of public education with a caller, Neal Boortz stated: "I think the most dangerous -- the single most dangerous entity, group of people in this country right now are the teachers unions." He continued: "I think teachers unions do more damage to this country than the Los Angeles Lakers. They do more damage to this country than all the drug pushers together. ... If I had a button right now, two buttons -- push this button and it gets rid of all the drug dealers; push this button, it gets rid of the teachers unions -- I'm getting rid of the teachers unions."

Boortz is a freak. His baseless statements do a disservice to us all.

This is the part where you call me insidious names and try to humiliate me into keeping quiet. Which is exactly why I'm not sharing my name.

last summer this blog had no problem insinuating that bu$h was secretly building domestic prisons in which to imprison all who dared defy him. so don't whine too much when those with whom you disagree share your same tactics.

Boortz is building secret prisons?

Looks like the conservative crowd didn't get the memo from their own tinfoil hat crowd/party leaders:

During a March 18 webcast of FoxNews.com's proudly paranoid "Freedom Watch," Andrew Napolitano introduced a segment about "what the government has done to take your liberty and your property away." And with that, he welcomed onto the show "the one, the only, the great Alex Jones," who began ranting about "exposing" the New World Order and the threat posed by an emerging "global government."

"I appreciate what you're exposing," Napolitano assured his guest.

Waving around a copy of his Obama Deception, Jones warned Fox News webcast viewers about Obama's "agenda" for "gun confiscation" and the new president's plan to "bring in total police-state control" to America.

Jones also noted with excitement that Fox News' Glenn Beck had recently begun warning about the looming New World Order on his show, just like Jones had for years. "It is great!" cheered the conspiracist. (Like Jones, Beck recently warned viewers that "the Second Amendment is under fire.") Concluding the interview, Fox News' Napolitano announced "it's absolutely been a pleasure" listening to Jones' insights.
